Arts & Culture

Organizational leaders increasingly acknowledge critical thinking, creativity, and innovation as among the top applied skills necessary for workers at all levels in all industries to succeed in the 21st century. The Arts and Culture sector makes a significant contribution and employs hundreds of thousands of skilled workers throughout Canada with total direct employment reaching an estimated 600,000 jobs (roughly the same as agriculture, forestry, fishing, mining, oil & gas and utilities combined). This new creative economy relies upon people who can think creatively, adapt quickly to new situations and problem-solve. The Arts and Culture sector is growing in Hamilton which includes local art galleries, recording studios and independent film production.
