Hospitality & Tourism

Hospitality and Tourism is one of Canada’s largest and fastest-growing industries and is a $21-billion business employing 491,000 people in Ontario. Hamilton’s multicultural nature is reflected in the city’s various restaurants with authentic cuisine, and several hotels. The economic impact of tourism is $132 million, employing more than 2,300 people. Although the hospitality industry is expanding, the search for skilled staff remains a challenge for restaurant and hotel owners. Cathedral High School, known for its Be My Guest hospitality program, is the site for the SHSM Hospitality and accelerated OYAP Level 1 cook program.
